Google Chrome became the top world's top browser for the first time

According to a survey performed by web metrics firm Statcounter, Google Chrome got the title for most used browser in the world.

Statistics display that Google chrome became the top world's top browser for the first time on sunday, attributing its reputation thanks to utilization in SBrazil, India and Russia.

"While it is only one day, this is a milestone," exclaimed Aodhan Cullen, the CEO of StatCounter, in a statement published by the organisation.

According to the Reuters report, On March 18 for the first time approximately 32.7% of worldwide chrome web browsing took place, followed by Internet Explorer with 32.5 %. As of Monday, Chrome took up to 30% of browser usage and Internet Explorer made up to approximately 35% world wide market share. Followed by Firefox nearly 25% and Safari with just 7%.

Despite its amazing accomplishment, Chrome still has a bit of work to do until it can win over parts such as China, Germany and UK.

"Whether Chrome can take the lead in the browser wars in the long term remains to be seen, however the trend towards Chrome usage at weekends is undeniable," said Cullen. "At weekends, when people are free to choose what browser to use, many of them are selecting Chrome in preference to Internet Explorer."

With the Easter bank holiday weekend coming up shortly, perhaps we'll see Chrome finally seal its victory.
